Typically from Brazil, Cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum) is a native Amazon fruit with great economic potential – mainly for its flavoursome, aroma and ability of domestic and agroindustrial use of its pulp and seeds.

The difference, compared to other fruits in the region is its superior industrial features; such as high pulp content and high acidity.

In industry, Cupuaçu is mainly used for the production of alcoholic drinks, ice cream, cosmetics and even chocolates.

Cupuaçu is truly an excellent source of Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3 and Vitamin C. The fruit is additionally great for bones, tendons and ligaments. It also has high levels of Amino acids, Selenium and Calcium.
